Our business is moving and transporting in Nashville. So believe us when we say, we know Nashville. You can go on countless blogs and find out what the popular things to do are in Nashville and those things are great, however we’ve put together a list of unique things to do that mainly only the locals know of.   1. One of our favorite things to do in the summer/fall is to watch a play in the middle of the park. Check out Shakespeare in the Park (http://nashvilleshakes.org/shakespeareinthepark.htm) a production company known for producing live Shakespeare shows in the Centennial Park Bandshell.

For History and Political Buffs

3. Visit the Parthenon. The Parthenon is located in Centennial Park in Nashville. It was originally built for Tennessee's 1897 Centennial Exposition and it is a replica of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece. It is a monument to what is considered the pinnacle of classical architecture. There is also a statue of Athena that is worth going inside to take a look at.

4. Tour the State Capital (http://www.tnmuseum.org/Visitors/Hours%5F%26%5FAdmission/) and then visit the Nashville Farmers Market right across the street. The capital is open for guided tours M-F 9-4 and closed on holidays. Admission to the museum’s permanent exhibits, the Military Museum and the State Capitol is always free. Most temporary exhibits are also free although admission may be charged to some.

5. Tour a local artisan chocolate factory! Olive & Sinclair (http://www.oliveandsinclair.com) is a local artisan chocolate factory right in the heart of Nashville! You will enjoy tasting chocolate every step along your tour and learn some neat things about chocolate production. The tour is only $5 and on Saturdays only. Plus, take advantage of their offers at the end of the tour so you can take some of tasy Bourbon infused chocolate home!

6. Tastings Galore. There are too many distilleries, breweries and wineries to name here, but we will name a few of our favorites to get you started.

Thee Corsair Distillery (http://www.corsairdistillery.com/tours/) offers tours of their fabulous facility and one of the only whiskey distilleries in Nashville. Taste their various flavors along your tour including robust unique flavors of whisky distilled from quinoa and barley!

Arrington Vineyards (http://www.arringtonvineyards.com) is a place where you can take a picnic, get some locally fermented wine, and listen to live music! Arrington Vineyards offers a vast amount of land with lots of hills and space to spread your blankets and enjoy your evening.

Winery @ The Belle Meade Plantation (http://www.bellemeadewinery.com) - Who can’t resist visiting a winery nestled in the heart of a plantation from the 1800’s? Not to mention it is home to some of the greatest horses in horse racing history! The Winery at Belle Meade Plantation is open seven days a week for visitors, and the historic mansion is open for guided tours.

The Pharmacy (http://thepharmacynashville.com) - great hamburgers and more. A refurbished pharmacy from back in the day, The Pharmacy sells handcrafted hamburgers, the best Bratwurst in town, and most importantly homemade sodas and ice cream sodas!

The Cookery (http://www.thecookery.org) offers good food and an exceptionally great cause. The Cookery, in addition to serving coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner and catering to the public, has a greater purpose. In The Cookery kitchen, formerly homeless students are trained and equipped in culinary techniques in order to prepare them for employment in Nashville’s food industry. Try our favorite, the Aussie style meat pie! It’s an explosion of flavors in your mouth.

Sunflower Cafe (http://www.sunflowercafenashville.com)- the best vegetarian cafe in Nashville! Sunflower Cafe features burgers that even meat lovers would love. Cafeteria style food with delicious desserts. Always full of people plus a friendly staff to boot. What’s not to love about this place?

8. Mammoth Cave National Park It’s not quite in Nashville, but close enough for a day trip! Take a joy ride and head for Mammoth Cave National Park! It is 1.5 hours north of Nashville, but it’s well worth the trip. Featuring Mammoth Cave a ginormous cave system and a part of the Green River valley and hilly country of south central Kentucky, this is the world's longest known cave system, with more than 400 miles explored. 9. Downtown Art Crawl Make time to see an eclectic mix of arts and music in the center of Nashville. Held the first Saturday of every month, Nashville's Downtown Art Crawl is the perfect way to experience Nashville's art scene which features diverse exhibitions boasting art from nearly every genre. Admission is free, and most galleries have wine + snacks.

10. Nashville Pedestrian Bridge Take a stroll on the Nashville Pedestrian Bridge. It’s a great photo opportunity for a cool trendy pic and it features Beautiful panoramic views of Nashville and the Cumberland River. It’s a great way to exercise! The bridge connects Nashville’s downtown to historic East Nashville so you can enjoy downtown as well as arts, shops, and restaurants on both sides. You can find the bridge at the corner of 1st Ave and Broadway. Nashville has a lot to offer and there is literally something to do every single day.
